Our own Rich Keller recently spotlighted some of the shows that are hanging onto the tradition of the theme song in their intros. After watching tonight's episode of 'How I Met Your Mother' (Monday, 8PM ET on CBS), we couldn't help but wish this show could have been on that list.

Wanting to impress his real father, Barney concocted a series of lies for his friends to make them appear cooler. Jerry was less than impressed with some of what he was discovering, but Barney didn't let up.

In fact, he upped the ante after the introductions were done and announced, "We're also a band!"

With that, the gang broke into a fun set where they performed the brief intro ditty to the show. As great as it was, it could have been so much better if 'HIMYM' had a theme song with actual lyrics of some kind.
