'American Idol' Top 7 Results: Who Was Eliminated? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 22nd 2011 12:40AM
'American Idol' resultsLast week, Paul McDonald broke the streak of five consecutive girls sent home on 'American Idol' (Thu., 8PM ET on FOX). With only two remaining in the Top Seven, Jennifer Lopez made no bones about not wanting to see a girl go home this week.

When the show brought out the eliminated contestants last week for an opening performance, the gender bias of the season was painfully obvious, as poor McDonald tried to keep up with the five girls on a girl-power song.

When Ryan Seacrest started whittling down the contestants, the favorites stayed out of the line of fire. Of the seven remaining contestants, only three of them have been in the Bottom Three before. And they made up the Bottom Three this week.

It was down to Jacob Lusk, Stefano Langone and Haley Reinhart, though Seacrest quickly sent her back to safety. In the end, after 52 million votes, Stefano Langone was the one who came up short, though he was smiling until the credits rolled.

When asked about what the show meant to him, Langone replied, "It started my career. That's something you can't put a price on. That's everything. So I'm just so blessed."

Do you think the right person went home?

I am so tired of Jacob surviving week after week. He has the vibrato of a 70-year-old opera soprano, frequently strays off pitch (although the judges never call him on it) and has hardly any stage presence at all. He does exactly the same thing every week, showing no growth whatsoever (much like Scotty) and yet Stefano, who actually started listening to the coaches a couple of weeks ago and gave his best performance ever on Wednesday got sent home. Really sad.

Who Me

All 7 were very good and it is going to be difficult to eliminate anyone of them as the weeks go by. My money is on James Durbon
