'The Voice' Coaches Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green and Blake Shelton Get 'Crazy' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 22nd 2011 7:20AM
'The Voice' PreviewNBC is pulling out all the stops to make sure we're ready for the series premiere of 'The Voice' on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 9 PM ET. They've blanketed the airwaves with ads, and then they decided to take it a step further with a full-blown preview of 'The Voice' (Thu., 11:35PM on NBC) premiere last night.

With 'American Idol' getting a lot of criticism of late for some of its recent results, and people saying it's more of a popularity contest than a true singing competition, there couldn't be a better time to launch an alternative take on the genre.

And to prove they've got the right superstars leading the charge as Coaches on 'The Voice,' the preview kicked off with the four of them proving their own mettle. Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Cee-Lo Green and Christina Aguilera performed a fantastic version of Gnarls Barkley's 'Crazy.'

Their differing musical backgrounds and genres blended better than expected as each of them took part of the song so as to spotlight their individual talents.

What did you think of their take on 'Crazy'?

I'm no musician but she seems light years ahead of Lady Gag Gag. It would also appear The Voice will attract true talent, not just be a popularity contest. Not setting time aside to watch but would if I'm in a position to do so.

She never changes her singing style. She has a great voice but it's always the same ole same old. And she needs to stop drinking before she becomes a double diva. She used to be so tiny and cute.

I saw the brief premier on Thursday night, and th song sounded much better than it does here. I don't like shows like Idol, but I'm looking forward to this. NBC is finally doing something right with a new show by promoting it.
