Daniel Radcliffe Tries His Hand at Stand-Up Comedy on 'Late Night' (VIDEO)
Daniel Radcliffe has been playing Harry Potter for half of his life. Now that the film franchise is finally coming to a close, it's time to start thinking about what's next. He's tried his hand at stage productions and other movies and television work, but 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC) afforded him a whole new opportunity. While Radcliffe admitted he's always been impressed with stand-up comedians, he also thinks they have to be insane to get on stage like that. He's never done it, but admitted to doing "loads of horrendous jokes."
That was enough to get Jimmy Fallon on board. "You wanna do one tonight?" he asked. "I do it every night. It's fun."
He then put Radcliffe behind the curtain and gave him an overly dramatic introduction, which made it even funnier by the time Radcliffe made his way to the lone microphone.
Radcliffe absolutely delivered on his promise of a horrendous joke, but the whole bit was so charming and fun we were laughing anyway. In fact, that the joke was so terrible made it even better.
Still, we're not sure Radcliffe has what it takes for this particular vocation.
