Damon Wayans Guests As His Son's Father on 'Happy Endings' (VIDEO)

Damon Wayans Jr. has been proving his comedic chops for the past few weeks on 'Happy Endings' (Wed., 10PM ET on ABC) as the married Brad. While he is just one piece of the solid ensemble on the new series, he's still managed to stand out for more than his passing familial resemblance.

This week, as a reminder that he learned from one of the best, his famous father made a guest appearance on his new show. The senior Damon Wayans was cast as -- surprise! -- Brad's father.

He entered the episode as a buttoned down and strict taskmaster, but a near brush with death opened his worldview.

Unfortunately, that moment came at the words of his son. When Brad told his father that he loved him after some tests in the hospital, dear old dad freaked out and thought he was dying. Ironically, this nearly killed him.

Luckily, everyone came through all right, and father and son were able to not only confirm their love for one another, they were able to speak it enough to pacify Brad's wife for a while. We hope Brad's dad becomes a recurring character, or even better get the elder Wayans back on a series of his own!
