Nick Cannon is a tad preoccupied these days, what with his wife Mariah Carey about to give birth to twins. Today on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), he wondered why he was even there instead of at home tending to Carey, whom he said is "ready to just pop." Bags are packed, and he's ready to go. And ready for a big change in his life, including taking fewer risks.

He spoke of a shoot for 'America's Got Talent' for which he was riding in a hot air balloon, and found himself realizing what was at stake should something go wrong. "The only thing separating me and the ground was a wicker basket," he said. "I looked down. At that moment, I was like, I can't do this anymore. You know what I mean? A good gust of wind and my children might never meet their father."

So, would Carey be mad at him for such a stunt? It's all right, said Cannon, "She doesn't know." At least, she didn't until this morning. Seems like she might be free to take in some daytime television.
