Here's what's wrong with the current season of 'The Real Housewives of New York City.' Too much Sonja; no more Bethenny ... and where the hell is Jill Zarin? For the second week in a row, La Morgan was in seemingly every scene of the show, while Jill was still in Sydney shopping for boomerangs and probably dragging Bobby and Allie on a walkabout.

This episode had all the signs of being Cindy's moment in the sun, especially with her birthday party at the horse farm.

After acting like an extra in the previous shows, she was front and center with the party in Quogue, but apparently, that's a fighting word to some of the ladies.

Hamptons in the fall with no tourists is perfect for the 'Real Housewives,' but going a bit farther out on the island to Quogue is the worst thing imaginable. Sorry, Cindy, you screwed up.

Cindy doesn't really seem to be fitting in with these women. She couldn't keep Sonja's confidence about her toaster oven party where Sonja was going to be matchmaker for Ramona and Kelly, and at Luann's girls-night-only, she was off-kilter from the start.

Didn't it look like everyone was in on the joke except Cindy? And what on earth made her think she could say something to Kelly that would not get back to Ramona? Cindy has to be brighter than that, right?

Of all the ladies, Ramona got the brunt of the abuse in this show. Is Ramona an 'in-your-face' character? Yes, you bet she is. But clearly the Howie situation had been bothering her for a while. Luann gave her supposed sound advice about how to approach Cindy's brother at the birthday party, but it was bad advice.

Cindy was already pissed off with Ramona about the pinot grigio. When she saw Ramona bugging Howie, Cindy pulled Ramona aside and chastised her like she was a bad child. Ramona probably should have known better, but after a few glasses of wine, as Luann said, Ramona loses her inhibitions and reason.

Here's my question, though: Where was Mario? He was at the party, so why didn't he come to Ramona's side and comfort her?

Considering how badly things turned out for Ramona, perhaps Luann's advice was meant to sabotage her? Luann didn't like Ramona pointing out that she's essentially a part-time parent, even though that's what she's become. The Countess doesn't take criticism well. Luann must have been tickled pink to see Cindy cut down Ramona at the party.

Sonja got a good look at Scary Island Kelly again. Their little walk on the beach, at the end of the ARF event, was typical Kelly. Sonja was trying to speak seriously about Ramona and why Kelly should give her another chance, but Kelly didn't want to hear it. Without missing a beat, Kelly simply fell to the ground and started doing sand angels. Sonja had no idea how to respond to such infantile behavior. But that's just Kelly being Kelly.

The cameras were generally off of Alex and Simon, and as previously noted, there was no Jill Zarin at all. She's on next week, fortunately. I never thought I'd be so happy to see her back in the fold.

'The Real Housewives of New York City' airs Thursdays at 10PM ET on Bravo.
