Nine Characters Who Deserve More Screen Time
Sometimes, there just isn't enough time in an episode for all of our favorite characters to get a moment in the sun.On almost every show there's an unsung hero, always supporting the main players, only getting thrown a bone every now and then. Depending on the show, some characters are just given the shaft season after season. If we were calling the shots, these characters would come front and center (at least for a multi-episode arc!) and have their moment in the sun.
From characters who deal with the undead to a blue-haired cartoon boy, we want to see more of these characters on screen ASAP.
Donna, 'Parks & Recreation'Retta's cool, confident and sultry Donna has been sequestered to background shots at her desk for far too long. Viewers know she's a maneater, let's see her in action! Whether she's downing two shots at a time or sassily spouting advice, she's a scene-stealer and needs more scenes to steal. Plus, she has a Mercedes.
Caroline, 'The Vampire Diaries'Let's hear it for Candice Accola. She, along with the writers, have transformed Caroline into one of our favorite 'Vampire Diaries' characters. It's a wonder what being undead does to you. More Caroline equals happy viewers.
Diane Lockhart, 'The Good Wife'Christine Baranski needs an Emmy for her work on this season of 'The Good Wife.' When her character, Diane Lockhart, gets some screen time, well, she steals the show. From those devious knowing smirks to a delightful roll of the eyes, Diane is a wildly entertaining character. But, once her "I'm leaving the firm" story wrapped, she's had very little time to shine. Season 2 has been Kalinda's year, let's make season 3 Diane's time to shine.
Milhouse Van Houten, 'The Simpsons'To say Milhouse is lovable ... well, that's to each their own, but the little four-eyed bushy-browed character has been such a mainstay highlight of the series. We wouldn't mind seeing him get another spotlight episode here or there. After all, isn't it about time "Everything's coming up Milhouse!" rang true?
Andrea, 'The Walking Dead'Now that the series has gotten the big Amy death out of the way, it's time for Andrea to become the kick-butt woman she is in the comic book series. The show isn't following everything the Image comic does, but there's no reason Andrea can't be the no-nonsense sharpshooter she is in the books. She's done grieving, it's time the spotlight shifted away from the Rick/Lori/Shane love triangle and Laurie Holden got time to really develop her Andrea character.
Sgt. John Munch & Det. Fin Tutuola, 'Law & Order: SVU'A show with such dark subject matter -- sex crimes, stuff with children, etc. -- needs a little comic relief and that's where Richard Belzer's Munch comes in. We know the majority of the show is about Benson and Stabler, but Munch and Fin are just as great together. Belzer and Ice-T have such great chemistry on the series.
Dr. Kate Murphey, 'Body of Proof'You don't cast a TV powerhouse such as Jeri Ryan and not give her enough to do. We want to see Dr. Kate Murphey out of the office a little more, getting into the thick of it. Jeri Ryan loves the blood and guts stuff, give her more!
Jenna Maroney, '30 Rock'Fewer things on '30 Rock' are funnier than Jane Krakowski's Jenna Maroney. Her classic over the top antics always produce a literal LOL, but she's a tad underused. Yes, many of you may be thinking she's on it more than enough, but what episode isn't made better by some absurd Jenna story? Can't think of one, right? It's about time we saw 'Urban Fervor' go into production.
