Sherri Shepherd put LL Cool J on the spot when she asked the 'NCIS: Los Angeles' star why he constantly licks his lips on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated).

"Every time LL says something, you lick your lips. I love it!" Shepherd pointed out. "Why do you do that?"

The actor/rapper didn't offer an explanation for his lip-licking tic. Instead, he seemed suddenly self-conscious of it. "That's funny. That's funny," he said, licking his lips once again. "Now I'm embarrassed."

"No! Don't be," replied Shepherd. "It's a gift to the world."
