Stephen Colbert Can't Support 'Glee' Now That It's in the Pocket of Big Gay (VIDEO)
In the latest installment of the "Threatdown" on 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central), the FOX hit 'Glee' found itself at number one. Stephen Colbert said it was there because of how it glorified homosexuality. He showed a clip from a local news station that equated the portrayal of homosexuality on 'Glee' to product placement. "You throw a soda in a movie and within a few seconds everybody in the theater is thirsty for that particular brand," the woman in the clip said.
"And 'Glee' makes you thirsty for 'Gay'," Stephen Colbert concurred.
He went on to show how 'Glee' uses "subliminal gay code" like Kurt's t-shirt that reads "Likes Boys," and how it "glamorizes" homosexuality, like when Kurt's life was threatened to the point he had to transfer schools. And who can forget all the slushies thrown in his face?
"Did you see that?" Colbert asked. "Free drinks."
