Stephen Colbert Can't Support 'Glee' Now That It's in the Pocket of Big Gay (VIDEO)

'Glee' on 'The Colbert Report'In the latest installment of the "Threatdown" on 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central), the FOX hit 'Glee' found itself at number one. Stephen Colbert said it was there because of how it glorified homosexuality.

He showed a clip from a local news station that equated the portrayal of homosexuality on 'Glee' to product placement. "You throw a soda in a movie and within a few seconds everybody in the theater is thirsty for that particular brand," the woman in the clip said.

"And 'Glee' makes you thirsty for 'Gay'," Stephen Colbert concurred.

He went on to show how 'Glee' uses "subliminal gay code" like Kurt's t-shirt that reads "Likes Boys," and how it "glamorizes" homosexuality, like when Kurt's life was threatened to the point he had to transfer schools. And who can forget all the slushies thrown in his face?

"Did you see that?" Colbert asked. "Free drinks."

What you see on television may influence your behavior in some respects, but it doesn't turn straight people gay; and if that gentleman in the clip from the American Family Association has any evidence or research that shows otherwise, I'd be interested to see it. Now, watching "Glee" may embolden gay people, specifically teenagers, to be more open and forthcoming about their sexuality, in the same way that straight people have always been; and it also may influence straight people to be a little more tolerant of gay people, both things that maybe the people in the clip think are just as dangerous as if "Glee" could actually "homosexualize" straight people.

Well.......sometimes there is truth in cynical humor. IMHO gay people deserve all societal rights...they pay taxes too; however, I also am getting very very tired of Hollywood's constant in-your-face pro-gay message. Sigh...enough!

Since the Huffy took over, this site has become the net equivalent of the Enquirer. Sorry, I want NEWS, not tabloid trash. Guess I'll switch to MSN for adult journalism.

Funny ... but the truth is that we (former Gleeks) have just gotten tired of having an agenda pushed in our faces. Its just gotten tiresome. Just go back to the music!
