Fox Renews 'Family Guy' and 'The Cleveland Show'
The animated creations of Seth MacFarlane will live on TV for another year.Fox announced today that both 'Family Guy' and 'The Cleveland Show' have been renewed for new seasons.
"For nine seasons, our viewers have been cracked up, delighted, surprised and, at times, gloriously disturbed by the mind of Seth MacFarlane -- and they keep coming back for more," Fox's president of entertainment, Kevin Reilly, said in a statement.
"The Griffins and the Browns have become cornerstones of our Sunday nights, and we can't wait to find out what new adventures Seth, Mike and Rich cook up for them next season," he continued.
This will be the the 10th season for 'Family Guy,' and the fourth for its spin-off 'The Cleveland Show.'
The 'Cleveland' finale, scheduled to air May 15, will feature celeb guest stars Eliza Dushku, Emily Deschanel, Katee Sackhoff, Sanaa Lathan, Danny Trejo and Robert Rodriguez. Meanwhile 'Family Guy''s finale, another installment of the show's 'Star Wars' satire, will air a week later. Anne Hathaway, Rush Limbaugh, Carrie Fisher and a bunch of other famous people have lent their voices to the episode.
Recently, Fox pulled a 90-minute, hurricane-themed crossover episode between the two shows (and MacFarlane's other series, 'American Dad') after storms devastated the southern U.S. No word on when the episode will eventually air.
