A New House for Mother's Day on 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 9th 2011 12:45AM
Ty Pennington, 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition'It was a wall-to-wall 'Mother's Day' theme throughout this week's installment of 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' (Sun., 8PM ET on ABC). Ty Pennington and gang took care of volleyball coach Carrie Prewitt, who stepped in to take care of the three Brewer sisters when their parents died from drug abuse.

Now this family of four was living in a run-down double-wide trailer, so ABC and the 'EM:HE' crew decided to tear it down and give them a house so huge the three girls could probably grow up, get married and still not have to leave home.

"Our old home felt like right at the end of the book and it was the end of the story," oldest daughter Ashley said after the reveal. "Coach had many memories in that home that we didn't get to share with her. Our new home feels like we're opening the 'Brewitt' book."

A full secured guarantee for a college scholarship is I believe for the first year, and will be renewed provided that all three young ladies are serious in their studies and keep up the Grade Point Averages! The three young ladies are given the opportunity to open great doors for their future happiness and success, and with the help of their loving, supportive and caring adoptive mother, I am sure they will do well! This story was very touching to watch and the genuine love and respect of all four family members is great.
Hope this will give others incentives to adopt, to give those unfortunate young people help and hope, never to give up, as all things are possible if you work for them!
Thank you Ty Pennington, Ms Prewitt and the Brewitt daughters, the crew, and all instrumental in this rebuilding and telling of this great heartfelt story! Wishing all well and much future success!
Ty Pennington, I can use the help in restoring or uplifting my home! Thank you for this story!

Property tax, and income tax on the value of the home. Severay of these "home owners" have needed to declare bancrupcy within a year or two.

How wonderful that this unselfish Gym/Health Coach/Teacher has opened her heart and home to these three young ladies and will lead them down a better path and future they wouldn't have had with their drug addictive parents or if they were placed separately in foster care! Have a free and full life, this teacher took all three young ladies and welcomed them with opened arms! May God Bless this woman and her three daughters with good health, a lifetime of happiness and prosperity always! Great that Ty Pennington, his crew and all those that helped to make this family of fours' dreams come true, mortgage paid, each having their own space and rooms to share together as a family! My question is, with all the renovations done, and making a small trailer into a mansion, will she be able to afford the real estate taxes, utility cost for the spa and other areas, as beautiful as this restoration and rebuilding of this fabulous new home is, will she be able to afford it?
Ty Pennington can come to my house anytime, I am in need of repairs, not to the extent this woman needed! This was a heartfelt show, and it was great to see an unselfish person be recognized for caring and given what they most especially deserve! Wishing them well and thank you Ty Pennington, crew and all that made this happen. Thank you for airing this program of hope and for all your unselfish work, also that of those that unselfishly show there is still alot of good, caring people in the USA!

This mom has a job as a volleyball coach. Not the highest paying job for sure, but a job never the less. Probably as the girls get old enough, they'll get jobs to help out. I wish them the best. It takes a special kind of person to take on three children to raise.

!!! JEANNE !!!

There's a lot more that goes on to get donations of work, supplies...catering for the crews even than most people know. I think it's a wonderful, perpetual fundraiser that involves the businesses and people within the communities of those chosen to receive the benefits. Surely, approval must be attained by the homeowners, and acknowledgement of possible changes to their lives as they are/were before the project can proceed. I would think that someone would try even harder to keep and maintain such a beautiful home than a rundown pos.
Dreams can and do come true but, sometimes, holding onto the dream is far more difficult than attaining it.

Ist yes the companies that put the work in should get some sort of plug. Not only will it help them cover some of the expense but when they ask someone else the people will jump on it and they can help more people. second Not sure but if the women is single and did not adopt the kids just the foster mom she is making out like a bandit getting food stamps I think it 1500 a month for each kid she has as foster children . If she is doing it without any goverment help more power to her and congrats.

there is a good reason not to adopt these girls at their age now. I know they just got schlorships, but if she had adoptedd the girls, there is lots of grant money out there they could not get because of mothers income. Then again, she seems not to have much income anyway. Anyway, good luck to all of them!!!
