The $10,000 Decision That Could Change the Game on 'Biggest Loser' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 11th 2011 1:45AM
Olivia, 'The Biggest Loser'The results of this week's weigh-in determine the Final Four on 'The Biggest Loser' (Tue., 8PM ET on NBC), which is the culmination of the contestants' work on the show. From there, two are definitely into the finale while the other two fight for America's vote. So this week was the last week your peers could vote you out.

Add that to the fact that you're smaller than you've ever been, and that a one-pound advantage can make a huge difference on the scale. But is it worth $10,000? Two contestants this week were given that very choice.

The theme was Exams Week, and it saw the contestants being tested by each of the four trainers and a final X-BOX 360 Kinect challenge with Alison. The combined totals of those five "exams" netted Olivia a cool $10,000.

Later, in the physical challenge, it was Austin who walked away with a one-pound advantage. But at the weigh-in, Alison gave them both a choice: Take $10,000 or the one-pound advantage.

Austin decided to go for the better shot at making the Final Four, while Olivia saw the $10,000 as a blessing and opted to keep it. Jillian didn't understand it, as it increased her risk of going below the yellow line with her sister. The pair wanted to make the Final Four together.

In the end, Olivia's weight loss was barely enough to stave off her worst case scenario, but Austin's horrible performance at the weigh-in saved her and sent him home. A one-pound advantage just doesn't do enough to improve a one-pound loss on the scale. Especially when everyone else did very well indeed.

Who do you think will win this season of 'The Biggest Loser'?

I really don't care who win, just get rid of Jillian and send her home with a bar of soap.

Who cares! I used to watch this show, but after this season I am done. It is pretty obvious that this show is set up! Everytime Oliviia or Hannah got in trouble and were in danger they got saved by some twist of fate. I think Rulon knew what as happening and said the hell with it. A two hour show and they spend most of the time talking to these two babble heads. One of the sisters will win, it has been set up for them. This show is turning into the biggest loser.
