Cee Lo Green's Team Delivers the 'Best Duet of the Night' on 'The Voice' (VIDEO)

Cee-Lo Green, 'The Voice'This is a big week for 'The Voice' (Tue., 10PM ET on NBC). It's opening gimmick was the blind auditions, but that round is over. As the competition moves into the battle rounds, it will be critical to see if that big audience stays with the show.

Based on the four performances we saw last night, we think they'll stick around. Each of the coaches paired up two of their team members and had them face off in a duet of a popular song. Then, while the other coaches could weigh in, it was up to the singers' coach to eliminate one of them.

Adam Levine didn't hesitate to call Vicci Martinez and Niki Dawson on Pink's 'Perfect,' "by far the best duet of the night." The coaches were shocked that Cee Lo Green paired the two as that meant he would have to lose one from his team.

"You do this war dance," Green told Martinez. "It's like you're about to tear this whole room down so there's this gut-wrenching effect you have on me." He selected Martinez to stay, and sent Dawson home.

Both women were great individually on the song, though Tim Mahoney and Casey Weston were stronger in their harmonies on 'Leather and Lace.' Nevertheless, it was perhaps the one duet in which the singers looked like they were having fun and working together more than they looked like they were competing.

What do you think of this new phase of 'The Voice'?

too bad there are young kids like BLAH allowed to make comments online. They have no idea on what they are talking about. like billie said many people were enjoying themselves just like me. Remember, many of these people are just beginning and are going to make mistakes. They may be good but still need inprovement so that the next time they get a chance like this one, they will be more prepared.

I suppose the audience that were on their feet clapping and going crazy were not enjoying it? Good Grief, people, not everyone is going to like the sme music, see the same thing. If you don;t like the show, don;t watch it. But quit making personal attacts against the singers or the judges.

It was sad to see the other two contestants (Tyler and Tim) who did not make it with Blake and Adam, and they had to step down so early in the competition. I hope they are recognized by some other to see their great potential.

The song fit: They are both terrible singers - way less than perfect. ISH!

You call that caterwalling singing? That's just screaming and the so called judges are clueless about true singing ability. Hopping around a stage and screaming into a microphone is crappy music. Neither of the those screamers had voices worth listenting to. Unfortunately, mediocrity in music is not the norm and not the exception. Total garbage.

@HEATHER...the COach get to say who stays or goes because it is THEIR TEAM. They are trying to beat the other coaches in the final round. They are selecting who they ultimately think will win. Yes the coaches pick their somngs, their duos and the winner....AND the only thing I saw wrong was that Adam was correct in telling Ceelo he never should have paired such a strong duo together knowing he would lose one....

oops, She did not ask any one else that. Why does the coach get to say who stays or goes. I mean shouldn't it be voted on between all of the coaches. I dont see how one person can decide who is better. It only means they are bettter to them. The coach picks their songs?! Then decides who will battle? That is really unfair. This show is FAUX.

I think we are seeing just how much looks really do matter. Tim Mahoney lost to a sexy girl that they didn't even turn around for. Blake picked patrick because he is country. Even Xtina asked him to take his pants off after she turned her chair around. She
