ABC Orders Tim Allen Sitcom, 'Charlie's Angels,' 'Good Christian Belles' & More to Series

by Chris Harnick, posted May 13th 2011 4:00PM
Tim AllenIn the wake of canceling 'V' and 'Brothers & Sisters,' ABC has ordered several new shows to series, including Tim Allen's sitcom and 'Charlie's Angels.'

The Tim Allen series, now called 'Last Man Standing' comes from '30 Rock' writer Jack Burditt. The official tagline: "Even though the world around him has declared the traditional male an 'endangered species,' Tim Fitzgerald is fighting for his manhood in a world that is being increasingly dominated by women."

'Apt. 23' (formerly 'Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23') tells the story of a young woman who moves to the big city and ends up with a hard-partying roommate. Dreama Walker and Krysten Ritter star.

Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh star in the 'Charlie's Angels' reboot.

'Good Christian Belles' (formerly 'Bitches') stars Annie Potts, Leslie Bibb and Kristin Chenoweth. The Southern soap follows Bibb's character who returns to her childhood neighborhood.

Christina Ricci headlines 'Pan Am,' a 1960s-set soap about pilots and flight attendants at the once-prominent airline.

Jennifer Morrison stars in 'Once Upon a Time' as a woman named Anna who is drawn to a world where fairy tales may be real. 'Big Love' veteran Ginnifer Goodwin also stars.

Rounding out the series orders are 'Revenge' starring Emily VanCamp, Shonda Rhimes' PR show 'Scandal,' 'Man Up,' 'Work It,' 'Suburgatory' and 'The River.'

Stay tuned to AOL TV for more fall 20011 schedule coverage.

I'm seriously not looking forward to any of the new shows ABC has picked up. I was looking forward to seeing more of Off the Map, No Ordinary Family, and more Brother's & Sisters.

At least Grey's is still here, I'll still watch it depending on what the season finale is like. If it ends to poorly then I won't be watching it next year. I have been very disappoint with Private Practice of late. So my Thursday night may be dead next fall.

Charlies Angels is the only show on this list that sounds interesting, the remakes by Drew Barrymoore were hits and I loved them and she's producing this so it shouldn't be too bad, the rest I can already tell will most likely be cancelled next year. Last Man Standing, no way a show about a man pretending its hard to be a man is going to fly, it'll only piss off women Tim Allen, besides didn't you already play that role on Home Improvement? The Good Christian Belles changed from B i t c hes will most likely piss off right wingers and christians and get canceled too cause once they start a crusade then its all over.

That "Pan Am" show sounds like an interesting hit provided it's done right. As for "Charlie's Angels," if it's doesn't have Jaclyn Smith or Cheryl Ladd in some way (and they still look good for 60-years-old), it will never fly. I'm surprised about the premises for the new Tim Allen show as well as the Christian Belles (Bitches) show considering how politically correct our society is. But the rest of the new shows sound like stinkers as well. I think ABC's going to be in the crapper for several years since this seems like a rebuilding phase.

ABC you have just been nominated, by yourself, to join the other channel we never tune-in to: Fox News
We know about your agenda: You need more room for the upcoming avalanche of million of dollars politicians are going to spend in the primaries and presidential elections. There is more revenue in that area than from the commercials you were receiving from the advertising conglomerate.

ABC YOU WERE ONCE THE ONLY CHANNEL WE WATCHED, BUT NOW WITH THE CANCELING OF "V" AND "BROTHERS AND SISTERS" WE WILL NO LONGER WATCH YOUR STATION WE WILL COMMIT OURSELVES TO CBS. THIS ISNT THE FIRST TIME YOUVE GOT PEOPLE INTO WATCHING YOUR SERIES' AND THEN CANCEL THEM.. THERE IS THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL, THE HISTORY CHANNEL, THE NATURE CHANNEL, NOW WE HAVE ABC THE CANCELATION CHANNEL... MAYBE INSTEAD OF CANCELING "V" AND "BROTHERS AND SISTERS" YOU SHOULD CANCELTHE WRITERS AND BRING SOME REAL TALENT IN TO WRITE THE SHOWS.. WE ARE VERY DISAPOINTED IN YOU ABC ,WE ARE LEAVING YOU AND NOT COMING BACK.

i completely agree, and ABC used to be my favorite channel. I loved Brothers and Sisters, and they cancelled it for things like many of the new shows that are new or just about to begin. I also love "Private Practice, and hope it does not get cancelled. One of the newest that I detest is Good Christian Bitches, and it has nothing to do with the Christian right. It has to do with insulting the intelligence of the viewers with the most shallw plot line, it is not funny, it's disgusting and empty headed and I gave ABC more credit than to air a show like that. It has not "replaced Desperate Houswives," which was a funny show about a neighborhood of fun women with some great actresses. Tim Allen and the plot of "Last Man Standing" is disappointing, since his last show was pretty good. Same tiresome story line. Shows like "Once Upon a Time and "The River" are just tiresome shows that copy other shows to try to intrigue the viewer. They fall very short. I also am very disappointede with what ABC has on the horizon, and will find other channels to watch. It's sad that ABC will once again be in the tank with ratings.
