Judd Apatow Says His Whole Career Has Been to 'Get to Penis-less Movies' (VIDEO)

They say behind every good man is a great woman. Judd Apatow must have decided to make sure his latest project was very good indeed, because not only did he surround himself with women, he put them all in front of him. And then he went on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!) to talk to another woman about it.'Bridesmaids' features an almost all-female ensemble, which is a far departure from a lot of Apatow's bigger hits. He's built a career on male humor, and so this was a different experience for him.
"I've realized they're funnier than the guys," Apatow said of the women he worked with. "The whole first part of my career has been like a mistake. Something to work through to get to penis-less movies."
He also said that the women were a lot cleaner on the set with regard to the topics he would overhear them discussing. Of course, this could just be that they were more discreet around him than most of his male stars have bothered to be.
