Behold the Power of Oprah: Daytime Queen Gets NBA Game Rescheduled and More TV News

by Chris Harnick, posted May 13th 2011 11:30AM
Oprah WinfreyOprah Winfrey is flexing her muscles in an odd way. The exiting queen of daytime talk shows has gotten an NBA game rescheduled. Why? Because she's filming one of her final shows at the United Center, the arena where the Chicago Bulls were supposed to play the Miami Heat.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the game was supposed to take place on Tuesday, but because of Winfrey's shoot it has been postponed until Sunday.

"We just got the e-mail saying we were supposed to start next Tuesday, but Oprah has it then," Charles Barkley said on ESPN Radio. "So they said, well let's do it Monday. Oprah is having one of her last shows, so she's got the United Center locked up.

"They're going to set up Monday and tape her show Tuesday. So they just sent out an e-mail and said prepare to go to Chicago and start Game 1 Sunday afternoon," he said. "They're going to move it up three days, for Oprah."

The game is the first of NBA's Eastern Conference Finals.

Winfrey reportedly wants to give Maria Shriver her own show. According to RadarOnline.com, Shriver is said to have been approached by Winfrey earlier this year, but now that Shriver has separated from Arnold Schwarzenegger, Winfrey is pursuing Shriver harder.

The title of this article makes no sense, its stating what its not, I mean they rescheduled but not because of her "power" its because she already has the building so they can't have it because its reserved for someone else, they make it seem like she said, "i don't like that, have the game another day" and they changed it, it was already taken. Wow sad what people do to get you to read a article

The NBA is going to have to wait a few more days for their overrated game. If Oprah had dibs on the center, then she deserves to keep her gig!

Oprah..hmmmm had I known this would be the result of her long road to success, I would not have gone to two of her shows on the up start in Chicago. As a sports fan myself...people plan for games..giving out season tix to friends for games they can't make, etc.. Gift tix for birthdays, parties at specific locations well you get it. Here comes Oprah, ruining what would have been fabulous evenings for thousands of people due to her selfishness and total disregard. After this move, she won't have to worry about "ALL HER FANS" as she is showing her TRUE COLORS..walking over the LITTLE PEOPLE that put her where she is !

The nerve of that woman. Thinks everyone should bow down to her gay .. ummm. I'm sure the people would much rather watch a game than this boring, know it all person.

The way it works is that you rent the arena, just like you rented your wedding hall. Oprah rented it before the NBA did. Simple as that.
