So things are beginning to come into focus as the season progresses on 'The Real Housewives of New York City.' Jill has it out for Ramona. And Ramona has it out for Jill. Last year it was Bethenny vs. Jill; this year Jill's taking on Ramona.

The highpoint, or low depending on your take, was Ramona's pinot grigio party. Were you as confused as I was when the waiter with the pizza appetizer kept trying to cut in on Jill and Ramona?

I couldn't tell why he was getting in between Ramona and Jill's "discussion." Was he that anxious to push the hors d'oeuvres?

The fight was a real she said/she said affair, with Jennifer, the bride from the Long Island wedding, having stirred the pot. Ramona declared that she couldn't be Jill's friend anymore. (Was she ever?)

Ramona wasn't going to accept that it was just Jill being Jill. Apparently, the same holds true of Ramona. Cindy said that others tolerate La Singer because it's just Ramona being Ramona. Is that a new thing; when someone is a bitch, you just say it's ___ being ___?

The way I see it, Jill hasn't gotten over what happened last season on the girl's weekend in the islands. That was when Ramona threw her out of the villa. With Bobby there, making Jill even more embarrassed.

It obviously remains a very -- no make that VERY -- sore subject. Not that Jill has said it to anyone. Not even when she was denigrating Ramona to Cindy did she dish about the snub, but it was all in the subtext. Jill's holding a big grudge.

Now we'll have Jill and Ramona taking sides. Luann is Jill's best bud and Ramona's crying on Alex's shoulder. This can't be productive, but it should make for an interesting battle royal.

Cindy's idea of being a working mother is to have four nannies and half a dozen assistants. Forgive me if I'm not convinced that she's losing sleep while the babies are up all night. It's almost like the kids fulfilled Cindy's need to be a mother, but she just doesn't have time to actually do the job of being a mom. Although that could just be the way they're filming her, right?

The father of Cindy's twins appeared, although it became clear why he's not actually with Cindy anymore. Cindy's a control freak of the highest order. Whenever he touched the babies, she gave him grief.

There was a nice guest bit on the show. 'Project Runway' designer Chris March was in Sonja's story to make her a party costume. He wasn't daunted by her Marie Antoinette get-up, but her 30-year-old white wig was moth-eaten and Chris was ready to gag when he looked at it.

The only thing funnier than Chris' reaction to the wig was hearing that Sonja's having a tough time financially. Really? Then why was she throwing a masquerade ball? Oh, right, Bravo was filming.

Jill and Kelly both were in agreement that the party wasn't grand enough to be a ball. It was a lame affair, way beneath Sonja's standards and nearly an insult to Jill. Luann must have gotten wind of the lame factor because she called in her regrets and never showed. How funny was it that Alex and Simon thought it was a terrific event!

Apparently, the ball was actually a coming out party and what came out was Sonja's ass. She was bending over and flashing it in everyone's face. Of course, she hadn't meant to leave her petticoat behind ... or did she?

Aside from pushing her pinot, Ramona was busy having glam photos taken to stick on her products, but she's still doing that bug-eye thing. Doesn't she see what she's doing with that goofy gaze?

By the way, Ramona knows about as much about pinot grigio as I do, which is next to nothing. Luann put her on the spot with the 20 questions. I fully expected Ramona to refer her to Mario for the details, but he was like a mute. He didn't speak. What was that all about?

On the facial front, Cindy made the mistake of schlepping Jill with her to the cosmetic dentist. As if it's not excruciating enough to have your teeth filed, Cindy brought along the one person who could make the experience just a little worse.

Next week there'll be fireworks as Jill vs. Ramona heats up ... and it looks like Luann is going to mix it up with Ramona, too. And what on earth could these women be thinking if they assumed Kelly would go on another trip with Ramona!

'The Real Housewives of New York City' airs Thursdays at 10PM ET on Bravo.
