Patrick Gets to Meet His Hero, Atticus Shaffer, on 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' (VIDEO)

Patrick Sharrock suffers from OI (Osteogenesis Imperfecta), otherwise known as brittle bone disease. His family was selected for the season finale of 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' (Sun., 8PM ET on ABC) to provide him with a bigger and safer home, which will give him more freedom than he's ever had before.

But a new house wasn't the only treat in store for Patrick and his family. While on their vacation, Patrick was treated to a visit by one of his idols, Atticus Shaffer. The breakout star of 'The Middle' has the same disability as Patrick, but doesn't see it that way.

"It's technically called a disability," Shaffer told the Sharrocks, "But I don't see it in any way disabling us. I'm able to do all the things I really want to do, just a little differently and more carefully."

The family then got to meet the rest of the cast of 'The Middle,' and Patrick even got a director's chair from the show with his name on it. "To feel like I was part of 'The Middle,' it really means a lot to me," Patrick said. "We're gonna be friends for a pretty long time."
