Transparency is an important concept to Don Lemon, so much so that he named his new memoir 'Transparent.' Lemon applies this concept as the anchor of 'CNN Newsroom' and in his personal life, revealing in his memoir that he is gay. He spoke about being gay and being yourself on today's 'Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated) and expressed his admiration for Williams.Williams asked Lemon why he felt it was time to come out now, at 45. "I mean, when you are going to start living your life?" said Lemon. "It's time for people to be who they are."
Lemon said he had watched an episode of 'The Wendy Williams Show' last week on which Williams spoke frankly about her drug use, and he praised her for being transparent. He was happy to see it and said it was time for people to stop being hypocritical, to allow people to be who they are.
