Ralph Macchio Has a Rough Night With the Judges on 'Dancing With the Stars' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 17th 2011 12:49AM
Ralph Macchio & Karina Smirnoff, 'Dancing with the Stars'Ralph Macchio sported some odd posterior-padding for his Salsa, on suggestion of Karina Smirnoff, but it wasn't enough to salvage their performance in the eyes of the 'Dancing With the Stars' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC) panel of judges.

The audience was on Macchio's side, booing Len Goodman as he said that "there was no real rhythm ... It was all too harsh, too in your face, too much attack."

But it was Bruno Tonioli who earned a censor beep when he shortened the term pussycat by one syllable in reference to Karina Smirnoff. She didn't seem pleased with him describing her with such a word, even if he was telling Macchio to be gentle.

All in all, it wasn't a great night for Macchio. For the second week in a row, he came out of the performance night with the lowest total scores from the judges. Do you think he can eke out another victory with viewer votes factored in, or will his run on the show end this week?

Too bad a good show has become so blatantly corrupted. I guess I'm dumb because I thought dance
competition was supposed to be just that -- dance competition . . . not a popularity contest.

Just got through watching dancing with the stars. Ralph got the boot . No surprise after the way the judges treated him. kirsty is still there along with Hines so everybody should be happy. Chelsea should just go home the deck is stacked.

Karina looks and acts like a hooker...she is disgraceful - so self centered all season, always hogging the camera, standing in front of Ralph, practically doing s trip tease...in doing so, bringing Ralph down..it's hard to even see him with Karina's costumes and behavior...when you look at Kym and how classy she looks, even when she wears a skimpy costume, she still behaves in a respectful way. And most importantly, Kym focuses the attention on her partner, Hines. Karina, on the other hand is a huge turnoff. NO CLASS...She needs to go back to Playboy - she will fizzle out of the picture rapdily...hope they don't bring her back. And sadly, Ralph has suffered for Karina's HUGE ego.

AND LEE IS THAT YOUR NAME AND YOU CARRIE ANN WHO ARE YOU.AFTER THIS SHOW IWILL NEVER WATCH DWTS AGAIN UNTIL THE SHOW PRODUCERS GET RID OFF THE JUDGES. THEY ARE BIAS AND THEY RIGGED THIS SHOW FROM THE BEGINING.

For me, I have enjoyed watching Hines Ward and Kim Johnson's routines, classy, vibrant, entertaining and technically sound/tight routines! If this couple doesn't win, then I have to say, it's the judges' choice if Chelsea & Mark Ballas win!

The judges are pushing Mark & his partner to win, although she's only picked up the routines in the past few weeks, she's not been consistantly good all season. Macchio & Ward from the beginning have been the ones to watch, although, last night, Karina stooped to a new low, even for her, and did bring Macchio down! Hines & Kim have been the most entertaining, talented and appealing in their routines each week and were indeed robbed of the judge's 15 points last night for the "Cha-Cha-Cha" routine! Kristi Alley is holding her own, grace, charm and fun to watch, she does move well and doesn't give up, I do give her credit! As for Makim & Karina, I wish these two full of themselves people wouldn't be asked back next season! Mark Ballas does need to refresh his thinking when it comes to ballroom dancing, if he wants to continue his crumping and rap genre moves, then perhaps he's best on another show, his father does need to come back, that man has class and style! Louie, Tony & Dimitry are the men to watch, class, charm and dance moves, and producers need to pair them with better partners!

Seriously, Macchio & Hines, especially Hines Ward were consistantly good in the technical dance routines, Hines Ward, being the frontrunner, always a joy to watch bringing fun and entertainment with his routines each week! Sorry his partner was injured and hope she recovers fast, but that didn't stop the couple from doing a riviting job during each routine, including the face-off "Cha-Cha-Cha" with Mark and his partner, Hines & Kim were robbed of this! Seems although Mark and his partner are only now in the past few weeks catching up, they weren't good all season! As for Macchio, I am sorry he was paired with Karina Smirnoff, she is bringing him down, he's been on point and truly great at ballroom dancing, in all his routines, last night, Smirnoff did bring him down! What can I say about Kristy Alley? She's delivered, is graceful and brings fun to her routines and should be given a chance at the top! For me, Hines Ward & Kim Johnson should be the winners of this season's DWTS.

Hi Mary!

Ralph does not deserve to be where he is anyway. He is only there because people felt sorry for him and his let injury. He is not as good a dancer as the others and he has no chance of winning - especially against Mark and Chelsea and Kim and Hines - he hasn't a chance. He will go home tonight - with or without his injury. Not sure you saw the neck injury to Kim, but she was there to dance and not complain. She had to have been in pain, but you would never know it - I give a lot of kudos to her because she danced beautifully and did not miss a step.
Bye Ralph!!

It doesn't matter how well the professional partner danced. They are professionals. The scoring is supposed to be based on the amateur 's performance, not the professional partner's performance.
