Jay Leno is having a lot of fun lately dredging up old television footage that he can use to embarrass his guests on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM on NBC). His latest victim was Ryan Seacrest.

As everyone knows by now, Seacrest is working toward becoming the king of all media, but even a king has to start somewhere. One of his earliest forays into television hosting was a show on the old Family Channel called 'Wild Animal Games.'

When asked about the footage, Seacrest joked, "I've gotten rid of all of it. I've hired a lot of people to get rid of it."

Leno found a clip anyway, featuring Seacrest and his co-host Eddie. Eddie was a chimpanzee, and in the clip Seacrest spent much of the time chatting with the chimp to the delight of his audience of children.

In most ways, it would appear that Seacrest was upstaged by his co-host, but you could see the glimmer of the consummate professional he would become. This was but an early step in his evolution as a professional, as he worked his way finally to being able to command a show by himself.
