Blake Lewis: 'Lauren Has My Vote But Scotty Will Take It Home'

The Nokia Theater was crazy yesterday. As an 'Idol' returning to the finale show, it is always so much fun to see past contestants, friends, and producers we have all had the pleasure to know and work with. I love the AI family vibe when there's a finale.

My day started at 9am doing the radio remotes with all the major pop radio stations in the nation. Good times!!! When I arrived at the Nokia Theater, I got in the elevator with Gordon Ramsay. He is exactly the same as he is a on TV - haha. Very into what he is doing.

After the radio remotes, I had a performance with a couple other past Idols for an AT&T pre-show event outside, followed by a television interview and finally to the finale performance show.I was so tired after the long day, that when the show started I wasn't ready for it. It took me a second to get into the show. I thought it started out with a BANG with Scotty coming right out of the gate with fire in his eyes. You can tell he was "in it, to win it!" as Randy would so distinctly put it. It was a little weird to me that the judges didn't speak and it went right to commercial.

Lauren came back and killed it, despite her voice being under the weather. I really want a girl win it this year, so she has my vote after this performance. When she sings, she reminds me so much of Jordin Sparks during my season. I love it!

I think Scotty took round 1, but Lauren took 2 and 3. Maybe it's because I love the song "Maybe It Was Memphis"... maybe it's because her final song about her mother was better than the song that was written for Scotty. "I love you this big" - what a bad lyric. The melody of the song was good and he sounded great, but I wasn't really into it. All I know is that I really hope America got this one right and Lauren wins this year. I think they are both great, but hey, I don't pick the winners...ever. Hahaha

Prediction is that Scotty will take it home. What do you think?

I'm so excited for the results show. Every year it's always a fun surprise to see who is performing with who. I know a couple things, but I won't spoil it for ya. Thanks again for reading my blogs. This season has been one of the best ever. The talent, production and judges were all amazing this year. Nice work giving the show a much needed kick in the pants, Nigel.

Cheers,
Blake

It's a sabotage that Jimmy Iovine & Co. have written something for Scotty McCreery that suits the winning moment of his life with "I Love You This Big," with Lauren Alaina struggling to generalize her message and make it a little suitable to her course on the show with "Like My Mother Does." It's like Jimmy knows who's going to win.

P.S. "...the confetti's gonna fall on a guy."

I'mma miss these American Idol blogs; Blake's got good taste. I really don't care who wins American Idol this year, they're both really good Country singers. I didn't vote last night. I'm excited to see who wins.

The two best performers of the year will be on stage tonight and show how it's done -- and it won't be Scotty and Lauren.

Lauren reminds me of Jordin but not nearly as good but she is more commercial than Scotty and that's what the show needs.
