'The Biggest Loser: Couples' Season 11, Episode 21 (Season Finale) Recap

Irene, Hannah & Olivia, 'The Biggest Loser' finale['The Biggest Loser: Couples' - 'Live Finale']

These shows being what they are, it can be a bit of an endurance test at times. Alison Sweeney has improved as a live host, but she still has some very awkward moments delivering lines.

And then there are just those awkward moments production-wise as they try to get through 20-odd weigh-ins and everything else. In fact, the weigh-ins is about all they had time for on this Season 11 Finale of 'The Biggest Loser.'

As this is Jillian Michaels's last season on the show I thought for sure we'd get some emotional tribute video to her and the impact she's made, but all we got was a few quick words when the trainers were brought out. Speaking of which, they did introduce her replacement.

Now, Internet speculation has Brett and Cara getting the boot after this season, reducing it back down to two trainers. Considering they were supposedly brought in because of Jillian's departure, if this turns out to be true it must mean somebody at the network or on the show itself really didn't care for either of them.

Cara I never really could latch onto, but I grew to appreciate Brett. That said, I have a hard time believing the show would want to go with only two male trainers. Still, maybe Brett and Cara will prove to have a future on the show after all. Do you think they should?

But back to the matter at hand, there were two prizes to give out, with the bulk of the night going to working our way through all the eliminated contestants so we could see who would take home the "At Home" prize.

I found myself disappointed that both Moses and Kaylee lost their momentum after going home. When Kaylee came out, I was immediately concerned. She'd struggled to find herself on campus and it looks like she hasn't done it yet. She gained 14 lbs since leaving the campus, while Moses put on one.

They were the only ones to gain weight, with most of the at-home players showing rather impressive results. The biggest disappointments outside of the Gray Team for me was the Red Team, but I kind of expected it. Q and Larialmy never really got the message while they were with the show, so it was unlikely they'd get it after leaving so early.

On the opposite end of that, twins Dan and Don, who basically ran away from the show because they couldn't hack being away from their families, went home and killed it. Dan was even in the running for the prize for awhile. I couldn't help but be reminded of Kristen Wiig's character on 'Saturday Night Live' who has to be excited for her bored prize winners when watching Dan and Alison interact.

You could see the relief on her face when Austin temporarily replaced him as the leader. At least he was excited for himself and everybody else. In the end though, it was Deni who took it with a 48.83 percent loss. That was the second best performance of the season, including the three finalists, and she went home in Week Six.

Talking of the finalists, I had kind of expected Irene to take the vote by America, though it ultimately proved irrelevant. She and Jay had virtually identical percentages of weight lost at 45.49 percent and 45.25 percent respectively, and neither of them could match Hannah and Olivia.

Hannah lost a total of 120 lbs, or 48.39 percent of her total body weight. Olivia was last to weigh in and eclipsed her sister by 9 lbs to take the top prize with a total percentage of body weight loss of 49.43 percent.

Both she and Olivia looked stunning in their form-fitting dresses, while Irene was lovely as well in a looser cut. However, Irene honey: You might want to be careful how high you kick your legs when trying to break through a paper picture of your "before" picture. I'm pretty sure we saw a flash of something you'd rather we hadn't.

As for the new trainer for next season, they went with another world-class athlete. Fresh from her guest stint this season, tennis star Anna Kournikova joins Bob next season. It's certainly an interesting choice, as was the length (or lack thereof) of that dress!

-I was a little disappointed there wasn't even a mention of Rulon, considering what a dominant presence he was on the show all season. I guess quitters get erased completely!

-"Look at my boy! Look at my boy! Look at me." Oh, I love you Jesse!

-I thought Anna Kournikova looked a little too thin. It was uncomfortable to watch her in that tiny little dress.

-Justin seemed like maybe he'd been drinking a little, or was heavily medicated. He just didn't quite seem himself.

-"You have always been beautiful to me, but finally you're beautiful to yourself." --Hannah, to Olivia.

Oh, and BTW, why don't they get a few of the past contestants who have gone on to be personal coaches and trainers and have them rotate all through next season. That would be interesting to watch them teach what they learned, and the contestants would get many different ways of training. This year some of the people did great changing around from the different trainers and using different methods of losing weight.

I agree, Justin seemed off, where was Rulon, the twins were like robots and the red team did exactly as I expected them to. Kaylee was disappointing, cause she wanted to leave early for how many weeks cause she had already "gotten" it, but obviously, she hasn't. Irene looked beautiful, although the bodice of her dress was weird, the color very nice. Olivia and Hannah did fantastic, congrats and they both looked beautiful and confident. Happy for all, am working on my own journey and it helps to see people succeeding.

Allison Sweeny's dress was too tight and ill fitting.

It's always unconfortable to see Anna Kournikova. I mean... It's Anna Kournikova!

So glad Olivia won! Never underestimate girl power! From the start, no one gave these gals a chance and they and Irene just laid everyone away! Anna Kournikova????Are you kidding me???? She is more of a celebrity than an athlete and never had a truly successful tennis career...Cara is so annoying that I fast forward through anything she ever says...Brett is cool and calm and a nice addition to the show. I think the show will suffer next season with the two women they have selected. There must have been other options..We can only hope that cooler heads will prevail

"No one gave these gals a chance...."
Seriously? The whole show from the start was set up so one of those hideous sisters would win....

Rulon did not quit. He was forced to leave the show for repeatedly breaking rules. It would of been a disgrace for him to appear on the finale.
I hope the next season is singles, the family thing is just too pathetic.

OMG!!!!!!!!! NOT Anna Kournikova!!! Miss SQUEAKY herself? Sighhhhh...that WILL put me off of the Biggest Loser! I'm American but livein Egypt and London....and quite frankly when she plays at Wimbledon Tennis I can hear her ALL the way across the park at my house with her unnecessary squeals! Arghhhhhhhhh....could they NOT find someone more wholesome looking that doesn't find the NEED to show off her umm errr "ASSets" and stick to the matter at hand.....helping others lose weight? She is pretty; however, there is a time and place (like the bedroom) to dress like she feels she needs to. We need a TRAINER...not a sex coach! IS she QUALIFIED, just because she's won many tennis matches, does NOT make her a qualified TRAINER! One can only hope that other viewers agree with me, and Bob and his team take notice....and hire a TRAINER....not go for looks for ratings. You're going to lose your true Biggest Loser viewers and get voyeurs. lol...come on...hire a PROFESSIONAL trainer who has proper educational qualifications.
