James Durbin Rocks Out With Judas Priest on 'American Idol' Finale (VIDEO)

James Durbin & Judas Priest, 'American Idol' finaleJames Durbin didn't get to rock out with the resident rocker on the 'American Idol' (Wed., 8PM ET on FOX) finale, but he still got to take to the stage with a legendary band. It was a beautiful vocal harmony between Durbin and Judas Priest's Rob Halford as they tackled a medley of two of Priest's biggest hits.

As we know you were anticipating, there was plenty of fire and explosions to help make sure we knew this was a James Durbin performance. All in all, he looked completely comfortable with the band and it was a great preview of the type of career he might have.

In a package on the most shocking elimination of the season, Durbin equated his own elimination to that of Chris Daughtry -- both wound up in fourth place.

It was a tongue-in-cheek video package, but there may well turn out to be some truth to it. Durbin is the show's first true rocker since Daughtry. We could hope he finds a similar path to tread as he's too talented to fade into oblivion like other former 'Idol' finalists.

From the moment I saw James at his audtion, I knew he would be the one I would be voting/rooting for. Once he was voted off, I was no longer interested in watching. (The participants were all good in their own way .. but I couldn't wait to see what James was going to do week after week.) Of course I turned into the finale to get my last fill and was not disappointed.

James was the best last night. Boy was he missed in the finals-I would of loved to see what he would of performed. He is just so comfortable on stage & hes only 22 yrs. old. I can't wait to buy his CD's. keep rock alive-there are plenty of fans out here that would love to see a new Rocker on stage-all of us baby boomers just love this music.
Please james keep rock alive & well. ( and I even started liking metal because of him) Good Luck with your career-you will be one of the success stories coming out of Idol.
