EXCLUSIVE: See Jimmy Fallon as Universal Studios New Tour Host (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted May 31st 2011 11:55PM
Jimmy FallonHosting 'Late Night' in New York City keeps Jimmy Fallon pretty busy, but not too busy for his new gig: hosting hourly tours at Universal Studios in Hollywood.

Wait, what?

Yes, through the magic of technology -- really just a nice camera and some HD TV screens on the trams -- Fallon is now the new video host of the world-famous tour.

"We really had fun with filming my role. We brought some writers out from our show and added some jokes, more play with the Studio Tour guides, the tram drivers and we added a song or two," Fallon said.

"The tour itself is a classic, a really great experience. For anyone with any interest in show business, it's all there: the glamor, the glitz, all the hard work that goes into making a movie or a TV show can be experienced on the Universal Studios Hollywood Studio Tour. I'm very happy to be a part of it."

Of course jokes and songs will be part of his tour guide shtick, but Fallon also played at a few of the lot's more famous locations, reenacting some classic movie scenes for tour-goers' enjoyment.

"It was an honor when someone asked me if I wanted to do this, because I've been on this tour thousands of times -- it's a must-do when you come to California." Take a peek at what you can expect from Fallon's hosting here:

Even if you've taken the tour before, it sounds like Fallon's fresh perspective will make it all new again, as will the the Studio Tour's latest additions, including King Kong 360 3-D, created by movie mastermind Peter Jackson.

The studio's newly rebuilt New York Street backlot is also now open, featuring 13 city blocks on over four acres, all giving the illusion of the Big Apple in Hollywood.
