This season's 'American Idol' winner Scotty McCreery stopped by 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (wweekdays, syndicated) today to talk about his 'Idol' experience. McCreery, noted for his baritone, said his choir director had him singing tenor as a kid. He also addressed the rumor that he and 'Idol' runner-up Lauren Alaina were dating after Regis Philbin asked if McCreery liked her.

"We're good friends," McCreery said. "I mean really, we're like brother and sister." Kelly Ripa didn't necessarily buy the dodge. "My husband and I used to say that about each other, too," she said.

McCreery followed his interview with a rendition of his single, 'I Love You This Much,' apparently not directed at anyone in particular.
