Stephen Colbert Makes Fun of Sarah Palin's National Bus Tour (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 1st 2011 5:42AM
Sarah Palin, 'Comedy Central'Sarah Palin has undertaken a bus tour across America with her family, and it seems to have the news organizations in a tizzy trying to figure out what she's up to. Or, as Stephen Colbert put it on 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), "Why is this happening?"

He pointed to her website, which said she's promoting "the fundamental restoration of America." More specifically, she's gaining inspiration from this journey, as is her family. And she's blogging about it on her website.

According to Palin, even her youngest daughter Piper is caught up in the spirit of their journey, remarking how impressive it was that George Washington worked so hard to keep his farm running.

"It's true," Colbert agreed. "I cannot imagine how hard he worked with no help other than his African volunteers."

In all fairness, Askia Jr., Sarah Palin did say in her book that she didn't quit because the job was too hard; rather, she quit because of the multiple ethics charges that were levied against her and her family (by fellow Republicans, no less) that were draining her fiscally.

Then again, that excuse doesn't sound any better, does it?

Hhirock, it would benefit you greatly to not take a hit from the crack pipe before posting.

Colbert has not been on MSNBC--he is a comedian and has done comedy for quite some time...which is *probably* why he has a show on Comedy Central, of all networks.

Just sayin'.

Sarah Palin has every right and more importantly the desire to enter the political arena at a time when others who
sit idely by when this Country is in a state of disaster. Political candidates are thrown to a medis that eats them alive rather than condoning their commitment to service. Get your own bus, hit the trail and fight the fight, walk the walk then belittle those who actually are making an effort no matter how imperfect. We have become a society that discourages those with earnest hearts for change. Whatever that may be. Easy to condemn those who are trying from the comfort of your own pulpit. Lock n load Sarah, this road is not for the weary and faint of heart for love of their Country!!

Colbert is a comedy show folks, he makes fun of people, especially people who have put themselves in the spotlight. Sarah is a phoney, she is using this platform to stay in the media, so she can campaign without restrictions from working with FOX news. If she declares her candidacy, she would have to give up her spot on the FOX channel and that would end a very well paying postition. It is all politics as usual. She is an idiot that has no business spouting her rhetoric to the people of the United States. She is totally unqualified and ignorant of how the government actually works. We know it is broken but to just put a pretty face in the mix does not constitute a real candidate. Wake up you idiots who follow Palen.

Colbert is a tool. He like all the libs know that Sarah can wipe the floor clean with Obama and all of them. She is the real deal not a phony liar like the guy in the WH right now. He's going to be scrambling to make things happen and pretend to work with GOP up until the election. It's a shame that it can't just be reported that she's a good person trying to do good things for this country because she loves it and for no other reason. And like other people noted these guys and gals who make fun of Sarah Palin on a daily basis, first of all something is missing in their own life whether it be a conscience, self esteem, confidence whatever that's why they need to attack her, secondly there are so many instances and comments that Obama and Biden made that could be hammered and made fun of. But no one does...hmmmmmmm.....you S.C. and your friends will be awfully upset when your boy Obama is kicked out of the WH. People are tired of his destruction of our country, the spending, the lies and broken promises, his priorities are completely backwards, his arrogant and immature actions and comments...need I go on!!! He WILL be voted out because people are tired of him. Yes he'll keep the majority of the black vote because they voted for him the first time because he was black not because he was the best choice so that vote won't change, but everyone else(whatever race or color) who actually gives a &^%$ about this country will vote him out...and that's a fact!!!!

Gosh! How unfair. Lindbaugh and Beck would never make fun of Obama or any other Democrat using the national media.

maybe the restoration includes getting rid of danny tanner look alikes off tv. maybe if people like you would shutup trying to tearing people down in the name of humor and really look at our country you would see we are in real trouble. after all the disasters that have happened here where is hollywood at. they seem to rush to other countries but when its here on their own soil it is always friends and neighbors to the rescue. so mister colbert put your money where your mouth is grab a shovel and lend a hand.
