Jane Lynch Will Host 2011 Emmys

Jane LynchJane Lynch will host the 63rd annual Emmys on Fox, the network announced.

The 'Glee' star, who won an Emmy in 2010 for her role as sardonic cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, will preside over the live show airing Sun., Sept. 18 on Fox.

"I am tickled pink to be hosting the Primetime Emmys on Fox," Lynch said in a statement. "I'm looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit."

It's safe to say there will be at least one Sue Sylvester skit before the night is over.

"Jane was my first -- and only -- choice as the host for this year's Primetime Emmys, and I am glad she said 'yes,'" Mark Burnett, executive producer of the telecast, said in a statement. "She has incredible comedic timing, and is a charismatic, talented actress whose energy leaps off the screen and stage. I am thrilled and excited to have her as our host."

Lynch got in some hosting practice at the D9 technology conference. Pretending to be the acting head of News Corp., Lynch poked fun at Fox News, Glenn Beck and the iPad-only publication The Daily. Check out her speech at HuffPost Entertainment.

Putting a network star as host has been a trend for the last few years. Jimmy Fallon hosted the ceremony last year when it aired on NBC, and in 2009 Neil Patrick Harris hosted the Emmys on CBS.

The 2011 Emmy nominations will be announced on July 14.

Well, I hope she hosts as herself and not her obnoxious character on Glee. If she has to affect one of her characters, I prefer the shrink on Two and A Half Men.

Well I hope she's ok with losing because I strongly believe that JULIE BOWEN will defeat her this year
