So, you want to be on 'The X Factor' but can't make it to an audition site? No problem, because Fox has just announced week-long YouTube auditions for the new Simon Cowell reality singing competition.

Today through June 9, solo artists and vocal groups -- you must be at least 12 years old -- can submit an audition video on YouTube at youtube.com/theXfactorusa.

"I'm really happy we are launching auditions through YouTube," Simon Cowell said in a statement. "There is a lot of great talent online now, and especially young kids today are using YouTube to get themselves seen and heard. It's very easy, and it is $5 million after all! I'm very excited to see the auditions that might come through this."

Some details to know: The song should be done a cappella and the video must be 2 minutes in length, including a 30-second introduction. The intro should explain who you are and according to Fox, why you have the 'X Factor.'

The audition videos will be judged similarly to how live in-person auditions are and will remain private; only 'The X Factor' team can view them. If your video is selected, you will be extended the opportunity to audition in front of the judges.

But just who will those judges be? Cheryl Cole has reportedly been fired from the judging panel and Nicole Scherzinger -- who was hired as co-host -- is now a judge.
