'Top Chef Masters' Week Eight Results: The Eliminated Chef Is... (VIDEO)

Curtis Stone, 'Top Chef Masters'In the eighth week of competition on 'Top Chef Masters' (Wed., 10PM ET on Bravo), the chefs were tasked with a breakfast challenge, using a microwave. This is far harder than you might think if you break down all the traditional breakfast foods. This isn't a toaster pastry after all.

Later, they took on a science-based challenge, with each chef being presented with a lab assistant and ingredients representing a scientific principle. The goal was to make a meal that was delicious as well as demonstrating the principle.

Padma Lakshmi joined the judging panel on this challenge, which netted some interesting results. Do we really need to incorporate a science lesson into a cooking show?

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

After failing to properly impress the judges with his interpretation of emulsion, Hugh Acheson was eliminated. He can take solace in having won the last two Quickfire Challenges and earning $15,000 for his charity. But his shot at the title came to an end, leaving the Final Four: Floyd, Mary, Naomi and Traci.

I would have dumped Hugh only on the fact that he was so arrogant and treated the PHD who tried to help him with completed disrespect. Way to go jerk !!!

Actually, this show is ridiculous...these judges don't really know Jack about criticing food...what a waste of tv air
time with this show!

The show won't be worth watching now that Hugh's gone. He was hilarious! The others are rather dull.

Top Chef Masters has been bad, the challenges have been awful for the most part and the host, get rid of the Aussie trud. This is my first and last season watching this show.

Hugh was the only chef with personality on that show -- I only watched it because of him. I couldn't care less about any of the others remaining. I really miss the Tom/Padma combo running it, too. Curtis is okay, but he needs an appealing sidekick, and he needs to get rid of the pruney old man judge who is always so negative and argumentative. It's just painful to watch now, and when they do bizarre challenges like this one, I don't even get any new cooking ideas. Disappointing!

the most recent test has no place in a top chef evaluation. Whoever decided on this have totally lost their marbles.
