Bethenny Frankel was on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) promoting her new book, 'A Place of Yes: 10 Rules For Getting Everything You Want Out of Life.' Apparently Hoda Kotb was a beneficiary of Frankel's ability to get to "yes" earlier this year when Frankel matched Kotb up with her current boyfriend, Jay. It was something Frankel doesn't believe Kotb would have done herself.

Kotb was at a book signing event when Frankel got Jay's daughters to convince him to come out so he could meet Kotb. "Hoda is here right now, get him down here, maybe he's cute, she's in a big group of people," Frankel remembers saying.


Frankel had been taking Kotb out to bars and trying to get her to "shake it up." Kotb thanked Frankel and said she wouldn't have been in the same place without her help. "Because you were socially constipated," said Frankel. In that particular metaphor, Frankel would be a laxative. But the description "social laxative" probably wouldn't drive too many book sales.
