Stephen Colbert Reluctantly Admired Bin Laden's Meticulous Accounting (VIDEO)

'The Colbert Report'It was with reluctance, but Stephen Colbert had to give a Tip of the Hat to Osama Bin Laden on 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central). He simply had to give props for al-Qaeda's meticulous collecting of receipts.

"Bin Laden kept immaculate financial records," he said. "No doubt using al-Quicken." He had to give it up to Bin Laden for "not just being al-Qaeda's charismatic leader, but also their annoying guy from Accounting."

He then went into an impression of the terrorist leader. "Remember Khalil, after you're martyred, your 72 virgins don't carry over to the next fiscal year. Use them or lose them."

The bit was worth it for the shot of bin Laden as an accountant alone.

I think there are some things that should be satyrzed and funny...but this is not one of them. Noone said Bin Laden was stupid and his record keeping was necessary in order to perform terrorist attacks.

Like colbert, but don''t think any arena is ok to make a terrorist into a harmless funny accountant. sometimes humor doesn't cover it. and enough terrorist jokes. it's not funny, especially if you live or work in NYC.
