Natalie Morales got to celebrate her birthday by slapping a telenovela villain around, but she never made it to the big ending kiss. Morales visited the set of Telemundo's 'Los Herederos Del Monte' for a segment on this morning's 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) and got involved in the action, filming a fight scene and getting to see what it's like to be an actor on a telenovela, a limited-run series.

Morales and 'Herederos' lead Margarita hammed it up for the camera in a shot of Margarita complaining to the director about Morales. Then the two got into some face-slapping and hair-pulling, ending when Morales tossed Margarita into a pile of straw and dramatically proclaimed, "That's how it's done!" The director stopped shooting just as Morales was leaning in for the big kiss with the leading man.

Back in the 'Today' studios, the consensus was that Morales should stick to her day job. Disappointing, but they did give her cake for her birthday. That counts for something.
