Stephen Colbert Reenacts Sarah Palin's Version of Paul Revere's Ride (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 7th 2011 10:25AM
Stephen Colbert, 'The Colbert Report'Stephen Colbert set out to defend Sarah Palin's version of Paul Revere's famous ride on 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central). That version had Revere "ringing those bells and making sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells."

"For those who say it's implausible for Revere to have ridden a horse while ringing a bell and firing multiple warning shots from a front-loading musket," Colbert said, "Prepare to eat historical re-enactment."

He then used an amusement ride horse to see how easily he could reload his musket while riding, which as it turned out was nearly impossible. Of course, there was one other problem Colbert was facing as his ride came to an end.

"I certainly hope Paul Revere was wearing a cup," Colbert said, wincing slightly. Still, we think he proved his point.

Christine, why would you blame the media when it's she that wants to put herself on display? Her original claim to fame was as a Miss Alaska contestant. She got elected Governer of Alaska because all them pipe laying boys up there need a woman for five minutes. She's a media hog. Her college degree is in communications. Guess what she didn't learn in college was when to shut up.
We don't want true statesmen running our country. We want a stand-up comic. That's why Obama got elected. He has great timing. On the other hand, he's also a very intelligent person.
Palin however is a clown. No wonder she thought she could succeed in national politics. So is "W". Just go back and ull up some clips of Letterman's "Great moments in presidential speeches."
I see Palin's vice-presidential candidacy as pure sabatoge of McCain's campaign by the Republicans. They didn't want him to win because they were afraid they couldn't control him. If he'd had a true presidential running mate, he might have won. He's pretty funny sometimes too.
It's no wonder Palin wasn't all too upset about her daughter's teen pregnancy. She eloped herself August 8/19/88 and her first child was born 4/20/89, the one that reputedly dodged drug charges by finishing high school in Michigan and joining the military. Guess he was dertined for that being born on 4/20. The official story is probably that he was conceived on their wedding night, and was born a bit premature. Now there are rumor that she and Todd are on the outs because both of them have been knocking boots outside their marriage.
What a great role model for family values, supposedly one of the planks in her platform.
Then Bristol goes on "Dancing With the Stars.", and Sarah gets a job on Fox News. Then her boss called her stupid.
But then it's all the media's fault.
I wonder if Sarah's ever heard of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, you know the guy that wrote the famous poem about "Paul Revere's Ride". Who knows. Maybe Sarah is right, and the media took artistic license with the facts then too.
Please don't consider this woman as a viable leader. She's has absolutely no credibility.

I am a republican and conservative. I am mortified that SP identifies herself likewise. She is the worst joke in American politics--even worse than "Wienergate."

Starting to think there is an obsession with some when it comes to Palin and it is not healthy. There are plenty of news items that should be mocked, yet they always go back to Palin.

Even if Palin was correct, which I don't think she is, it was the way she answered that was so baffling. She sounded like a kindergarden student giving an answer

Wow. Just look at all the libtards attacking Palin's account of Paul Revere's ride, when.... (wait for it)... she was absolutely CORRECT, according to historical scholars! http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/peter-roff/2011/06/06/sarah-palin-was-right-about-paul-revere . Do you think you will see any apologies or retractions from Couric or Stewart or Colbert for their incessant need to create a story where there is none. And yet - they will turn the other cheek and defend Congressman Weiner's right to send photos of his engorged crotch to college students. Although, Stewart did imply that it was not Weiner's weiner because his memory of his former roommate's weiner was much smaller than the image. Stewart also commented on the great shape of his friend's body. They must have been "really" good friends for him to make those kinds of comparison so readily. Maybe that's the real story. But Libtards dont report the news - they create it.

Wouldn't it just be easier to say, "Hey, I had a brain fart on national TV and misspoke" than insist upon rewriting history to cover your flub? Everybody misspeaks or gets facts wrong from time to time (even the simplest things when on camera), but ADMIT IT! When a person is ignorant, he or she can admit to making a mistake and learn from it. When one is stupid, however, he or she is in complete denial of his or her own ignorance. I'd rather see any person, conservative or liberal, run this country over Sarah Palin any day.

This guy is soooo unfunny. I'm not really a big Palin fan, but the way the media treats her and the piling on by all these lefties makes me like her more, even though there are several things politically I think she is wrong on. As an independent I feel pushed to the right becuse frankly even though there are a bunch of losers in the Republican party they are a) not as bad as Pelosi and Reed and b) their supporters are less obnoxious.
