Representative Anthony Weiner admitted Monday in a surreal press conference that he was responsible for Tweeting a lewd photo from his Twitter account, and also revealed copped to engaging in multiple improper online relationships while in office. The reaction of the ladies on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) Tuesday ranged from outrage to bewilderment.Elisabeth Hasselbeck said that all taxpayers should speak out and demand that Weiner resign, although Barbara Walters noted that might better be left to his constituents in New York. Sherri Shepherd didn't like the fact that Weiner used his office's resources for his indiscretions.
Whoopi Goldberg was bewildered in light of the case of Representative Christopher Lee, also of New York, who resigned in February after it surfaced he had sent a photo of himself shirtless to a woman he met on Craigslist. "You saw what happened to him," she said, noting that people will be watching for this kind of thing. "Then I have to question, are you smart enough to still be the guy that represents me," she said.
Joy Behar brought up that Bill Clinton survived worse as president, but he was still impeached.
It was a typically diverse set of reactions from a diverse crew of ladies.
