Barbara Walters Thinks X-Rated Anthony Weiner Photo is Flattering (VIDEO)
Barbara Walters broke down her thoughts on the Anthony Weiner controversy Thursday on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC). She finds it hard to defend his actions, but doesn't think he should resign if his constituents still want him. And however offended she might be by the photos circulating that are allegedly Weiner, she admitted Thursday she found them somewhat impressive."What he has done is unfathomable," said Walters, "I think the pictures are disgusting, but I think he has hit rock bottom and this may be what he needed so that he changes his life. He has been a good and effective congressman." An ethics committee can investigate and chastise, she added, but he shouldn't step down.
Joy Behar said there was nothing to prove the photos weren't someone else, jokingly suggesting they might be Andrew Breitbart, who broke "Weinergate." Elisabeth Hasselbeck said the X-rated photo must be flattering if Weiner didn't deny they were him. "Let me tell you something," said Walters, "it is."
