Simon Pegg Tells Fallon That Steven Spielberg Beat Him Up (VIDEO)

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jun 14th 2011 6:35AM
Simon PeggSimon Pegg stopped by 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC) to talk about his new movie, 'The Adventures of Tintin.'

To get the look of the original 'Tintin' comic books, director Steven Spielberg shot the movie using motion-capture computer animation.

This meant that Pegg and his B.F.F. Nick Frost -- who play the identical Thompson Twins -- both had to wear really tight-fitting suits. The sight was "not that pretty," according to Pegg.

However, tight suits aside, the most exciting part of the shoot for sci-fi fanatic Pegg was getting to grips with his idol Spielberg and co-star Andy Serkis. Literally. When Spielberg was explaining to Serkis how to rough up Pegg's character he grabbed Pegg and started shaking him around. Then Serkis joined in and started shaking him.

And Pegg's reaction? "[It was] one of the most amazing days of my life. ... I was being manhandled by the creator of 'E.T.,' and Gollum!"

Still ANOTHER article with misleading headlines. Steven Spielberg did NOT beat up Simon Pegg. He merely demonstrated how he wanted the actor to play his role. Another False Alarm courtesy of TV Replay. Thanx!!!

A Law should be passed to prevent Rich/Powerful/Film Directors and Producers from touching Actors and
Actresses..............this is not normal and is against the ethics of peace and tolerance !

P.S. Should also include other forms of violence such as verbal abuse and asking difficult questions for
Actors/Actresses to answer, such as do you intend to show up for work in the AM ?

did you actually read this???? this type thing happens on nearly every set with the producer EXPLAINING by doing how he wants the shot to be done. a recent expose' on harry potter told of the producer "rassling" on the floor with the kids to get them to do the scene right in the Goblet of Fire. there is no difference here, the guy wasn't actually "beat up", he was shown how it was wanted.
