Selena Gomez Talks About the Pressures of Being Young and Famous (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 17th 2011 1:20PM
Selena Gomez on 'Good Morning America'Selena Gomez already had a high profile of her own, starring in Disney's 'The Wizards of Waverly Place,' working on a burgeoning film career, and touring as a singer. Add the fact that she's dating young superstar Just Bieber, and life can get a bit frantic, as she explained Friday on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM on ABC). Gomez, who turns 19 in July, said she has already wasted too much time worrying about it.

Gomez was asked how she handles all of the scrutiny. "I'm young," she said, "and I spent the first three years hiding and terrified of things like that. So I'm just sort of enjoying being young and just having fun and focusing on my fans and my music."

Gomez was then joined by her band, The Scene, to play 'Who Says,' the first single from the forthcoming album 'When the Sun Goes Down,' Gomez's third album with the band.

Don't worry Selena in about 5-6 years Disney channel will have another 14 year old or so kid with an over publicized and hyped up kid show. They'll shove a microphone in their hand, put them in front of a band and back-up singers. No matter how weak to average their voice is. They will have their own line of clothing and perfume I'm sure. Remember there were many before you and there will be countless ones after your star has went out. And you'll be hoping for that return phone call from Celebrity Boxing. Please I beg of you. Get an education. Have a plan for your life when all this fairy tell crap comes to an end. Just take a long look at Britney and Christina. Aging teen-pop stars that are trying to hang on to an image that as long since faded...And even the slutty stuff isn't working for them anymore...food for thought!

Tell that to Haley Mills, Annette Funicello and dozens of other child actors who went on to continue their careers after they left Disney. The problem "some" child actors is they sometimes do not have a solid grounding in morals, law and common sense from their parents and run with the wrong people for enterteainment in clubs and in private.

Wow. You are so full of encouragement and support. Tell us, do you support your friends in things they want to do with their lives in the same helpful way? BTW. Haven't you noticed there are a lot of actors, actresses, and singers who have performed well into their fifties, sixties and beyond. Why do you assume she hasn't saved most or a large portion of her earnings to date? Disney isn't the end of the road by any means. Life goes on. A perfect example is Haley Mills and there have been many others.

What are you talking about? There wasn't anything in the article that even hinted that Selena Gomez was complaining. You should be awake before you start reading articles on the Internet.
