The Size of Christina Aguilera's 'The Voice' Paycheck Might Surprise You

by AOL Music Staff, posted Jun 19th 2011 11:30AM
Christina AguileraChristina Aguilera is definitely the biggest name of all the coaches on NBC's 'The Voice,' but how much bigger?

The singer/actress makes big money off of her latest gig as coach on NBC's hit battle of the bands show, but you might be surprised to hear just how much. Brace yourself.

Aguilera reportedly earns a staggering $225,000 per episode. Yup. That means Christina makes 2.25x the amount of the future winner of the show's $100,000 prize -- every episode. So in just eight episodes, Christina has grossed $1,800,000 since the show's April 26 premiere. Not too shabby for a month-and-a-half of work!

And it gets better. Christina's co-stars Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton only make $75,000 per episode, which is no doubt an enviable paycheck, but it means that Xtina makes $150K more per episode than her male colleagues. Break that glass ceiling, girl!

I am just happy to see a good program with good singers and have the chance to watch many of them grow on every new show, like Dia. She is in my opinion one of the top 3 new singers. Her arrangements were fantastic and hope that she will shine in the near future.

I figured they paid her a lot, that's why we're stuck with cheap celebrities, like Blake Shelton. At least Christina has an amazing voice and talent that somewhat justifies the price tag.

I still do not understand why they have Reba playing the second fiddle to Blake.

Yup, she's not worth it. You can find sexier singer to be a judge on this show but I'm absolutely convinced you cant find a trashier judge for this show. Didnt help the fact that shes dress like a cheap hooker in every single episode. I'm still waiting for any sighting of clear heels which I'm absolutely convinced she have in her wardrobe.

She can sing, probably better than you and is easy on the eyes. Probably could make even more giving concerts than going on the show.

While I do like Christina and follow her work, I just gotta say that she canceled several tours due to poor ticket sales, the latest in 2010 -- but regardless, glad she is on the show.

But when you think about how much other huge names bag for joining shows (e.g. Laurence Fishburne made more per episode when joining CSI), Christina's paycheck isn't special. You could also mention something like Simon Cowell's eventual $36 million/year on Idol...but that feat took awhile to reach.
