Gene Simmons Admits He Needs To Grow Up on 'The Talk' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 20th 2011 5:10PM
Gene Simmons says it's time to grow up on 'The Talk'Gene Simmons admitted it was time to grow up and avoid the temptations of the rock and roll lifestyle on Monday's episode of 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). After a week in which his long-running relationship with Shannon Tweed fell apart on national TV, first on 'Today' and then on 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels,' Simmons made a public plea to win Tweed back.

"For the record," he said, "I love Shannon Tweed. I want to work this out. There's no chance of me ever running out on my kids or Shannon. I will do anything I can to make sure I finally grow up and be a man."

Wayne Brady was also a guest on the show, and said it was a big deal for Simmons to come out and say that publicly, instead of displaying some sort of hyped up bravado. "I applaud you," he said. Time will tell if the man who wrote 'Calling Dr. Love' is willing to call a relationship counselor.

If anyone believes this is real and not made up for rating needs to get their head examined. Being a life long KISS fan we all know Gene Simmons is all about money. Which isn't a bad thing. He sells everything and right now he is selling this fake story. It's all about ratings. Everything Gene does is scripted.

His hair is so gross...and yes, he needs to grow up and stop hanging out with 20 year old bimbos...his girlfriend has stuck by him and he needs to do right by her...stop saying your lifestyle is the excuse...be a man...also, I do not believe they are fighting...I think this is all staged for ratings...

Even though the show is scripted, I like to watch it.
Its nothing like I thought it would be, but still fun to see.
Gene and Shannons kids are great, very smart and have respect, for others, and their selves, something kids today lack. The kids went to school, and work, Gene said no free rides. Again, something our kids dont want to do. Their daughter is sweet, and intelligent, and seems to be able to take on about anything. The son is funny, and hes nice as any guy would want, or need to be. And it clear in every show, this family loves each other more than anything else.
I have a feeling this split between Gene, and Shannon is for ratings, I would hate to think other wise.
I believe this family will be together long after were all gone.
They all are great people, who know how to enjoy life, with out drinking, or drugs. Very unusual these days. I wish them all, the very best.

He needs to get his priorites in the right place. MONEY MONEY MONEY doesn't = love. It was sad to hear him say that. It must have had something to do with him growing up with nothing that made him feel like that. How difficult for a dad to hear his daughter tell him that she would go with her mom. I hope that was a wake up call for him.

I watched their show when it first came out and was amazed at how normal and loving his family was. I don't think he messes around, I think it's all hype for the show. They set it up with them fighting last week on all the talk shows, and now he's making the circuit this week alone saying he's gonna grow up and then next week they'll be seen happy again. I haven't watched the show since the first couple seasons cause it got so obviously scripted and I didn't like it anymore. I do wish the best of luck to both of them cause they're doing something right cause they have two great kids who don't drink or do drugs!
