Tatum O'Neal and Chelsea Handler Talk About Their Difficult Fathers (VIDEO)

The roles were a little reversed with Tatum O'Neal on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!). O'Neal has been rather famously estranged from her difficult father, Ryan, for decades. That relationship is now the subject of the series 'Ryan and Tatum: The O'Neals.' But O'Neal wanted to talk about Chelsea Handler's father.

"He's a real hot mess," Handler admitted. "Right now he's an even bigger mess than your father."

Tatum then asked if the story was true that Handler's father had gotten them upgraded to first class on a flight by saying he and Chelsea were married.

"After my mom passed away, I thought I would take him on vacation to let him get over his grief," Handler said. "We got upgraded to first class -- at the time, I had no money -- because he told the flight attendant we were honeymooning."

Not only is that "a bit of a boundary break," as O'Neal said, but it's even more bizarre when you consider this was shortly after the death of the wife and mother in the family. Hopefully, he let things rest with the story and didn't feel the need to "act" married, however he might define that.
