Four dancers will be going home on tonight's episode of 'So You Think You Can Dance,' thanks to a logjam created when no one was eliminated on last week's live show. Thursday on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC), judge Mary Murphy talked about the confusion of that first live show, and the snap decision to keep everyone for one more week. The first live show was chaotic from start to finish. The judges had thought they'd be an eliminating an injured contestant, but they battled through to dance a solo that made the judges re-think things.
"We all looked at each other, we couldn't make up our minds," said Murphy. "The heads of Fox were down on that stage during the commercial break. We were figuring out what to do. We were like, 'Oh, we can't let anybody go home right now!' So we had to get all that approval in a matter of seconds. Cat did not know what was going on up onstage at all."
Billy Bush said the show was going to go "from a lovefest to a bloodbath" Thursday night when the four dancers will be sent home. "The hate mail will start tonight," said Murphy.
