'Wilfred' Can't Control His Animal Lust With a Hot Waitress (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 24th 2011 5:44AM
'Wilfred'There are some perks to being a dog, and clearly there are some perks to playing a dog on television. Series co-creator Jason Gann, who plays the dog 'Wilfred' (Thu., 10PM ET on FX) in both the current US series and the former Australian series, certainly seemed to be enjoying the perks in the series premiere.

The central conceit of the show is that Elijah Wood's character Ryan sees his neighbor's dog Wilfred as a man in a dog costume. Everyone else sees a dog.

We also see Gann in his costume, which is why we get to enjoy bizarre visuals of Wilfred nuzzling his nose between a waitress' breasts and even starting to hump her.

In other words, Gann gets to do all these completely inappropriate things with people because he's a dog. It has to be one of the most fun, and downright bizarre, acting experiences one can imagine.

We particularly liked him articulating "I'm tryin to," when Ryan was trying to get him to stop assaulting the waitress. Wilfred speaking genuine dog thoughts at times, like Brian does on 'Family Guy' only adds to the weird hilarity of this bizarre premise.

What did you think of this Aussie import?

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the show by judging from the previews, but I absolutely adore it now. I’m always recommending that people check out the show and it’s sad that DIRECTV customers can’t watch it because of the contract negotiations with FOX. I was an employee at DISH Network when the same thing happened last year and I know how frustrating it is but thankfully, DISH and FOX signed a long term agreement so I wouldn’t have to worry about missing anymore of my favorite FX shows!

I'VE BEEN HOPING THE RATING ARE SO DAM LOW THAT THIS SHOW JUST DISAPPEARS OFF THE FACE OF TELEVISION.

Saw the previews of WILFRED and couldn't wait for the premier of the series. Loved It! Now I can't wait until the next episode. What a mind it took to come up with this and make it Laugh Out Loud funny. Great job.
