Sookie Returns from Fairy Land to Find Things Have Changed on 'True Blood' (VIDEO)
If you haven't watched the fourth season premiere of 'True Blood' (Sun., 9PM ET on HBO), you certainly don't want to be reading this article. After a crazy, and some would say uneven, third season, season four picks events up right where we left them. Sookie is in fairy-land, but can all this beauty be for real, and who's that guy over there? He sure looks familiar.!!SPOILER ALERT!!
We told you to stop reading, so if you're still here it's your own fault you know now that it's Sookie's grandfather, only he doesn't look nearly old enough. In fact, he looks like Gary Cole. With an appearance by the spirit of Stephen Root's dead vamp later in the episode it was almost a supernatural 'Office Space' reunion.
But granddad wasn't the only surprise in store for Sookie in fairy-land. Turns out not only is Sookie part-fairy -- thus the mind-reading thing -- but so was her grandfather and the fae queen has decided they've "sown too many seeds with humans. Now it is time to harvest." She doesn't want any more "bearers of the fae" on the human plane.
But Sookie's far too bullheaded for that, so she orchestrates her escape and drags her granddaddy along. Only to find out when they come back that even though she hasn't been gone that long, it's been a year in the real world. Cue dramatic changes in the cast member's lives and relationships. Won't that be fun to explore this season.
What did you think of the new Bon Temps and the classic "one year later" television stunt for 'True Blood'? Which character's story has you most intrigued right now? Jason's hillbilly brood? Sam's new anger management group? Tara's new lesbian cagefighting life in New Orleans? Sheriff Andy addicted to V? Arlene's fear of her "evil" baby? Lafayette living with Jesus and meeting his coven? Bill as King of Louisiana? Eric owns Sookie's house? See, change is fun!
