Cathy Decides to Make Her Own Doctor's Appointment on 'The Big C' (VIDEO)

Sometimes all it takes is a little patience. But when you're living with cancer, and you're trying to get an appointment with a specialist, that can be in short supply. So short was Cathy's supply on the season premiere of 'The Big C' (Mon., 10:30PM ET on Showtime) that she went to the doctor's office without one and demanded that she be seen.

What followed was probably one of the more embarrassing moments we could imagine for someone on a righteous crusade. After getting stonewalled at reception, Cathy turned to those in the waiting room.

"Congratulations on getting an appointment with Dr. Sherman," she told them. "Apparently one of the hottest tickets in town. So if any of you and maybe Stages 1-3 would considering letting me go first, that--"

At this point her phone rang, and it was a young woman standing right behind her. Obviously oblivious that Cathy Jamison is the same woman causing a ruckus in the waiting room, she was calling to confirm Cathy's appointment for the following Wednesday.

Cathy held on to as much dignity as she could -- while likely hoping none of those people had a follow-up scheduled for next Wednesday -- as she left. Probably a group she'd be more than content to never see again.

We loved seeing Laura Linney, Oliver Platt and company back for the second season of 'The Big C,' but we do miss Marlene! What did you think of the premiere?
