Countess LuAnn to Tina Fey: 'Call Me!'
Countess LuAnn de Lesseps is having fun right now. She's starring on a hit reality show, in a relationship and living out a dream: being a pop star. Her latest piece of fabulous music comes to us in the form of 'Chic C'est La Vie.'
"This song is really about living out my dream," LuAnn told AOL TV at Life & Style's song and video release party. "It's about travel, it's about confidence, it's about me living my dream. That's what I'm doing by doing the music video ... it was just really fun"
'Chic' is the follow-up to 'The Real Housewives of New York City' star's iTunes hit 'Money Can't Buy You Class.' There aren't as many lessons in 'Chic' as there are in 'Money,' but there are little messages hidden within the lyrics.
"There's another lesson in this song, which is 'Beauty class and elegance lie within the soul. Confidence is key,'" she said. "There's always a little message in there, but I'm really having a great time with it. I'm just having fun, that's what it's all about."
Here, LuAnn previews the rest of the 'Real Housewives' season -- there's a duet in her future! -- and her desire to guest star on '30 Rock.'
You mention all the girls in the song, Kelly and the jellybeans --
Oh you heard that? Yeah, Kelly and the jellybeans, Jill bring the jewelery, Ramona bring the Pinot.
I noticed there's no Pinot Grigio here.
No. Well, Ramona's not here either.
Yeah, I noticed that.
[Sighs] Well, I invited her but she didn't make it.
What can you tell me about the reunion? I know you guys just filmed.
It was a very long day. You know, a lot of drama.
They usually are. How many hours did you film?
Like from 9 in the morning until 6 at night. Long day. Long day with all those women. It was ... spiritual. [Laughs] I think Jill and I chant, I can give you that.
Have you heard anything about next season? There have been rumors about people not returning.
Not yet. We'll see, we'll see, you know?
You've had some famous lines this season --
You mean "Even Louis Vuitton makes mistakes"?
Yes! Can you judge my shoes? Feel free to be harsh, they're not great. Just simple black shoes.
Right, but they're just scuffed enough. Clean and relaxed. I would call it relaxed and put together.
Also, what happens to the messenger?
We all know what happens to the messenger. [Laughs]
Do you have any qualms with this season so far?
You know, it's been really great for me. I'm with Jacques, I'm in love. I have my kids. Noel started his skateboard company, FancyFool, and Victoria is going to art school in Paris this summer and they're good. I'm happy. The show is going well for me, I get to sing with a major icon in the music business this season.
That's coming up? This song?
That's coming up. Nope.
No?
Nope, that's some spice.
What else can you tease me about that?
Well, I can say she's major. And I get to sing with her. And she wants to sing with me, which is really cool.
Is that toward the end?
Kind of.
Would you rule out doing any other shows besides 'Housewives'?
Hey darling, I was on 'Law & Order' with Mariska Hargitay, please. That's very cool. The other day Tina Fey came up to me and said, "I just wanted to say 'Hi!'" I was like, "What!? Are you kidding me?" She is wonderful. When I did 'Law & Order,' they asked me what else I would like to do and I said "'30 Rock,' call me." Call me, Tina!
