From 'Deadliest Catch' to 'Dancing With the Stars'?

Sig HansenIt's a little early to start taking 'Dancing With the Stars' rumors seriously, but here's one we can get behind: Reality Blurred reports that 'Deadliest Catch' star Sig Hansen has been approached to compete for the mirrorball trophy next spring.

Over the past few seasons, the ABC series has cast pretty young reality stars to samba alongside sports pros and classic TV actors, but we like the idea of going a bit older. And since Hansen has been vocal about his love for the show -- he told Jay Leno last year that he wanted to try his hand at competing -- it's a good match.

"They're looking at it for next March and I'll do it," Hansen told The St. Petersburg Times in a quote that didn't make the final article, but the reporter provided to Reality Blurred. "I think it'd be good for the brand, once-in-a-lifetime thing, and it's f***in' cool, you know?"

Since 'Deadliest Catch' has broad appeal -- nearly 2,000 fans attended the third annual CatchCon in Seattle earlier this year -- Hansen's presence could spice up the 'DWTS' format. Plus, he's game for whatever the show would throw at him.

"I think it'd be fun," he continued. "It's just, you know, why not? I'm living life. It's been fun and as long as it doesn't hurt my relationship with my wife, I'm good with it."

Tell us: Is it too early to take this rumor seriously? Would you watch Hansen on 'DWTS'?

I'm not a big fan of DWTS but I am of "Catch" especially Sig and crew so I'd watch just to see how the hard working man can do in the "Hollywood" world. Go Sig!!

I've been a dancer for 12 years, and NOBODY calls me prissy. D.C. is a great show. Both jobs take guts and courage but in there own way. I say go for it Sig. If you can run a dance floor the way you run a wheelhouse, more power to you. I saw you and the Hilstrand brothers in Cincinnati a while back and it was a very entertaining show.

Maybe DWTS should have a 'theme' show, where the entire competition is made up of personalities from another program. I can just see Keith from The Wizard twirling around the stage.

Oh, get over it. Sig already dances (you'd know this if you watched After The Catch). He might have an edge. Hell, he might win the damn thing. I think it would be a laugh riot to watch him take criticism from the judges. And the DWTS producers better have their bleepers ready. Sig swears like...well, a sailor. I say go for it!

I would definitely watch it and I know my husband would, he is a big fan of Sigs, and he never watches DWTS. Do it Sig. Would love to see it. Go for it Capt. Hansen.
