Liv Tyler Says She Couldn't Negotiate Out of a Nude Scene in 'The Ledge' (VIDEO)

Liv Tyler, 'Chelsea Lately'So far in her career, many of Liv Tyler's fans have been disappointed there hasn't been a fully nude love scene in any of her films. It's as if the actress skipped right over that seeming rite of passage for many young Hollywood starlets.

As she revealed on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!) that has been carefully orchestrated throughout her career.

When faced with nudity in scripts for prior films, Tyler said, "I'm always trying to negotiate and convince them."

"But that's not what really happens," she would tell them. "Panties could just go to the side and a boob could pop out."

For her latest film, 'The Ledge,' she said, "I couldn't win with that negotiation."

And so the 33-year old actress was fully naked for her love scene. But Chelsea Handler assured her no one thinks of her as a prostitute. "I've got that covered," she declared triumphantly.

if you read the script, and it calls for nudity, and you don't want to do it, why sign the contract, knowingly, and then protest and "negotiate?"

I think it is a tragedy the way Hollywood seems to think nudity is so important. Todays movies are not even close to being as sexy as the old movies. I WISH we had sensors for the movies of today like we had back before the sexual revolution of the '60's. For some reason Hollywood has decided to promote sin of every kind.....it sets examples for todays yourth that lead down the wrong road. You can't even let your kids watch the Disney channel alone, you have to sensor it also. What ashame!!!! Thank God my kids love to read books... you know, the things on paper with printed words..... commonly found in a little known place called the library. Liv.... PLEASE, stand up to Hollywood and say ......... NO.

Getting naked in your bathroom or bedroom is no big deal, but it is different if you post your naked picture on a billboard for your mom, dad, grandparents, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, cousins, friends and close acquaintances to see. Oh.. and don't forget future employers or business colleagues, people you don't know, people you may know in the future but don't know now as well as the random person passing by will all have the pleasure of viewing your nakedness.

As well as the blogger that saw the billboard that will circulate their comments along with your naked picture; it will then get in the local news, "tastefully" showing the parts they can. Happily, 10year later, it will show up on TMZ posted next to a current picture asking if we "memba them? You can't forget about your children, current or future, and the pleasure they will have when their classmate comes up with a copy of your naked photo and shows the whole school. Let us know on AOL as well so we can all log on an gawk at you too. Yea.. your right, no big deal...LOL

One of the reasons I so admire Julia Roberts and Renee Zellwegger is that they have not allowed themselves to be exploited like the majority of actresses who appear nude under pressure. I just saw Love and Other Drugs and Anne Hathaway truly compromised herself in a film which would have been much better were the nudity not so explicit. In my lifetime, I have seen only a handful of movies where nudity was necessary or handled tastefully. Most of these women are being violated but advancing their careers took priority. I am no prude and for the most part I don't blame them since they don't seem to "arrive" in Hollywood unless they've flashed their privates.

I agree 100%. Prostitution is promoted of Purity. Sexy is promoted over Subtle. ****** are promoted over Wholesome. It's a shame that in the USA where "women have rights" it seems the rights we have are to be a ***** or a slut. Pink said it best.. Girls used to grow up and want to be President, now they want to dance in a video for 50cent. (what a a great double entendre).
