Tom Hanks Does an Impression of Ron Howard Directing Himself (VIDEO)

So you've never been on a movie set with Ron Howard? That doesn't mean you won't enjoy Tom Hanks' take on the experience on 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS). He and David Letterman were talking about what it was like for Hanks to direct himself on projects, when Letterman brought up Howard."How would Ron direct himself in a movie?" Hanks mused aloud, to which Letterman immediately asked to hear it.
Hanks then erupted into a hilarious impression of bubbly and energetic Howard acting like Sméagol and Gollum from 'The Lord of the Rings' if both sides of his fractured personality had been wide-eyed and full of joy and hope.
It was so funny, we'd imagine Ron Howard himself was busting a gut if he happened to see it. If he didn't, it's only going to be a matter of time before someone shows him the footage. We see him laughing and agreeing with everything Hanks is doing and saying in the impression.
